Top Tips to Lower your EMF Exposure

EMF exposure levels need to be monitored. There is a huge amount of uncertainty over how harmful electromagnetic radiation (EMFs) can be to human health, but it is widely regarded that any long-term EMF exposure could be the cause of serious ailments. Amazingly, around 25,000 articles of scientific research on the subject of the biological effects and medical applications of non-ionizing radiation have been written over the last 30 years.

The huge amount of research into the subject means the scientific community knows more about EMFs than some types of chemicals. What is certain now is that EMFs can be problematic to human health if there are high levels of constant exposure, and that some people are more susceptible to adverse symptoms from excessive EMF exposure than others. Another conclusion that has been drawn is that children are much more vulnerable to EMFs than adults.

With all this in mind, there are plenty of ways to lower your exposure to EMFs and avoid any side effects that could affect you. In this day in  age there are so many different electrical devices to use, and often we don’t even realize when we are in a place that has a high level of EMFs. It’s time to take action and follow a few simple steps to free yourself from EMF exposure.

Avoid Long Calls on your Cell Phone

One of the best things you can do is stop talking on your cell phone whenever possible, and keep your cell phone usage to a complete minimum. A study called The Reflex Report revealed that 24 hours of continuous cell phone usage will cause long term genetic damage to the user, which could manifest itself in the form of a brain tumor. Now you might be thinking to yourself that talking on the phone for 24 hours is ridiculous, and you are right to think that.

On the other hand, it is probably quite common to talk for 2 to 3 hours each day for some people, and perhaps even 6 hours for people reliant on their cell phone to talk about business. Even 1 hour of continuous cell phone use is exposing your brain to intense EMFs, so avoid it whenever possible. Instead of talking on a cell phone, use a landline instead. It will dramatically lower your EMF exposure.

Use a cable internet connection instead of Wi-Fi

Nowadays everybody seems to be using Wi-Fi, but this method of accessing the internet means you’re exposed to more intense EMFs than when you use the a hard-wired Ethernet cable. If you can use a cable, then make sure you hook it up to your computer instead of using Wi-Fi. Also, make sure you switch off the Wi-Fi receiver in your computer so that it isn’t sending out a signal to find a Wi-Fi connection. Also, when you’re out in public places try to avoid Wi-Fi hotspots, instead go to a park or open space to give your body a break from EMFs.

Switch back to incandescent or use energy efficient LED light bulbs

You may have changed all you light bulbs to special energy efficient Compact Fluorescent bulbs, but these give off radio frequency radiation, in addition to UV radiation and dirty electricity. The old style incandescent light bulbs give off tremendously less amounts of these by-products, even though they do use more electricity. The problem is that General Electric doesn’t even make the old style incandescent bulbs anymore, so stock up while you still can. You can also try using energy efficient LED light bulbs, because these don’t contain radio frequency radiation or UV radiation, however the dirty electricity can still be a problem.

Clear your bedroom of EMF sources

Apart from your workplace, your bedroom is where you spend a large part of time each day. You may be sleeping, but that doesn’t mean that EMFs are sleeping too. Things like laptops, cell phones, LED alarm clocks, televisions, DVD players, and a whole bunch of other electronic devices are constantly emitting an EMF that affects you while you sleep.

If you really need an alarm clock in your bedroom, use a battery powered analog or LCD alarm clock. It’s time to banish all electronic devices from your bedroom, so that you can sleep safe in the knowledge that you are not being exposed to EMFs while in the land of nod.

Try EMF Protection Devices

To eliminate most of your concerns, use EMF protection devices. There are many available today on the market. Some are designed to be worn; others to attach to devices; and still others to plug into your electrical grid. Shop carefully, however. Many devices are inexpensive, and with further reading, you discover why–there isn’t much to them. Look also for a company with a long-standing reputation and one that explains their technology. EarthCalm is a good place to start.

Do LED light bulbs emit EMF?
Also, do they emit UV radiation?

    • Aine, Editor says:

LED lights are advertised as the safer, healthier, choice, having many health advantages over fluorescent and even incandescent bulbs. However, LEDs still aren’t the perfect answer, and research is ongoing.

LEDs do seem to be best for close work, since they do not emit dangerous UV radiation. But some LED lights do emit EMFs. Other reports now claim LEDs can cause blindness! So do your research before you buy. There still isn’t a definitive healthy and environmentally friendly choice that all experts agree on.

To protect yourself from the EMFs emitted by all your lighting as well as your household appliances consider EarthCalm’s Home EMF Protection System.
